Central University of Haryana (CUH) is one of the fifteen new Central Universities established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, during the XI Five Year Plan (2007–2012), under the Central Universities Act, 2009, enacted by the Parliament.

The University was accredited with an ‘A’ Grade in the second cycle of NAAC assessment and accreditation conducted in August 2023. It has been ranked among the top 150–200 universities in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). CUH is fully funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The permanent campus of the University is located on 484 acres of land in the Jant-Pali villages of Mahendergarh district, Haryana, from where it conducts its academic operations. Currently, the University offers 86 academic programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels.
