UPSC CMS 2026 Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (500 Marks)

The written exam consists of two objective-type papers, each of 2 hours duration and 250 marks.

  • Paper-I: General Medicine and Paediatrics (120 Questions).
  • Paper-II: Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, and Preventive & Social Medicine (120 Questions).
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd (0.33) marks deducted for each wrong answer.

Stage 2: Personality Test (100 Marks)

Candidates who qualify the CBT will be called for an interview to assess their leadership, intellectual curiosity, and mental alertness.
